Featured Artist: Geoff Parkyn

Geoff is a self taught artist, whose roots can be traced to Pender Island and the early 90s. StellaMaris arts started as an artist cooperative, at the Hope Bay Dock. They all shared a common dream of creating art, while supporting each other through group shows and informal workshops. Although the cooperative lasted for only a brief period, it provided the spark for Geoff to continue to express his artistic side.

As a painter, Geoff tends to bounce between abstract expressionism and landscape, sometimes combining the two. Inspiration has come to Geoff rom a variety of artists, but Emily Carr and the Group of Seven, as well as Tom Thomson are predominant in his early years.
